Hibernal is an interspecific vine variety, used in organic farming for its higher resistance to fungal and fungal diseases. It was bred by Helmut Becker at the Research Institute in Geisenheim in 1944. It was created by crossing the Riesling x Seibel varieties. It was entered in the State Variety Book in 2004.
