Welschriesling

The origin of Welschriesling is not exactly known, it probably spread to us from northern Italy, from Tyrol. The planting of this variety is one of the oldest in the Czech Republic, it was entered in the variety book in 1941.

It is most widespread in Mikulov arrea, where it achieves the highest quality. In good years, it produces excellent quality wines with a higher acid content, it is ideal for the production of sparkling wines. The color of the wine is light green to golden yellow, the aroma is flowery, changing to meadow hay, in the higher attributes we find honey to fruity notes.

At Vinařství Volařík, Welschriesling is the dominant variety. His plantings on the renowned vineyard routes - Železná, Kotelná, Ořechová hora - form the backbone of the Terroir range.
